Justice is supposed to turn on facts and law—not whether a person can survive the price of asserting their rights.
Social Justice Defense Council is being developed as a community-supported fund for people facing serious legal harm without the resources to meet it. Our aim is to connect carefully documented needs with practical support for legal defense, emergency stability, and a fair opportunity to be heard.
This mission statement is a working draft and will be refined as SJ-DC's structure, eligibility standards, and oversight are established.
